Late 1880's and rugged old timer Boss Spearman (Robert Duvall), his loyal friend Charley Waite (Kevin Costner) along with their employees Button (Diego Luna) and the hot headed Mose (Abraham Benrubi) are driving their cattle across the vast plains of the West. However when they stop off at the remote town of Harmonville, they soon find themselves coming up against a corrupt sheriff and rogue rancher Baxter (Michael Gambon), who wants Boss and his crew off his land. But Boss Spearman is never one to back down from a fight and he isn't going to start now!
